A fabulous expression; the lifted bouquet shows raspberry, lemon peel, Gala apple and subtle spice aromas, followed by a juicy palate is both elegant and punchy. Beautifully styled and attractive, offering terrific drinking.

About the wine:

Botanically speaking, together all of the petals of a flower are called a corolla. This wine is named for the typical flowers of northern Gascony - crocuses and primroses - revealing their most beautiful carollas and fragrances in Spring.

The terroir is centered around the city of Condom in the South-West of France. The soils of the area have a unique clay-limestone composition. The wine is made with a blend of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Tannat and Cabernet Franc grapes. Bright pink with raspberry reflections, the very intense nose, combines notes of raspberry and blackberry with aromas of grapefruit with a touch of blackcurrant bud, from the Cabernet Sauvignon. Fresh, lively and refreshing on the palate it has elegant fruit flavours and a lingering finale.

Have as an aperitif on the terrace or enjoy with friends over a tapas evening (ham, tortilla, tapenade). Goes well with grilled meat, fish, pasta, summer salads and spicy Asian cuisine.

About Plaimont Producteurs:

In the mid-1970s André Dubosc, a third-generation wine grower, set out to build up the reputation of the wines from their region of South-West France. He and other passionate young winegrowers revived the Saint Mont appellation. In 1979, they decided to strengthen their foothold by uniting their wine cellars and estates. And so they set up the Plaimont union of cooperatives (“Pl” for Plaisance, “Ai” for Aignan and “Mont” for Saint Mont). From the outset, Plaimont acquired the region’s finest châteaux and estates to rebuild those iconic vineyards and give a new impetus to the region. The cooperative includes 10 chateaux, involves 800 wine growing families tending 5,300 hectares of planting, with an average of 5 to 8 hectares per wine maker.
