Grenandise Rosé 2017
Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, January 2019
Sweetly fragrant and inviting, the wine shows lifted aromas of Gala apple, strawberry, citrus and blossom on the nose, leading to a succulent palate that is nicely rounded and juicy. Very approachable and friendly for easy drinking. At its best: now to 2020.
About the wine:
In the South of France, from Saint Chaptes to Collias, via Uzès and Saint Anastasie, the Collines de Bourdic cooperative is made up of 1600 hectares of vineyards that extend over a dozen communes with a range of terroirs. Grenandise is made from a single grape variety, the Grenache noir grape. It is thanks to a short maceration and a fermentation at low temperature that the winemakers have created magic in producing this divine rosé. This dark grape is at work in this superb deep and brilliant rosé, with pretty purple hues. Delicate aroma of white flowers, red fruits, blackcurrant bud and shrubland make up this elegant nose. The palate offers a very good balance between volume, fat and fine vivacity.
About Collines de Bourdic
It all started in 1928 with a handful of winemakers from the villages of Arpaillargues-Aureilhac, Aubussargues, Bourdic and Garrigues-Sainte Eulalie who joined forces to build the Cooperative Cooperative Cellar of Bourdic.
Since the beginning of the adventure, priority has been given to the vineyard and winemaking production in which the cooperative invests regularly. Driven by both an entrepreneurial and an innovative spirit, over the generations the winemakers have developed widely recognized know-how. Often pioneers in the planting of new grape varieties, the cooperative cultivates a taste for risk and difference.
